Wine Tasting Benefit supporting ADAP Advocacy Association, 12/7/2011

On December 7, 2011, the ADAP Advocacy Association (aaa+) & DC’S MOST FABULOUS Magazine team up again to invite you to attend the aaa+ 4th Quarterly Meeting, which is being held as a wine tasting benefit. The event is being held to raise awareness about the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP), which is a federal-state program designed to provide life-saving medications for people living with HIV/AIDS who are uninsured or under-insured.

Luke’s Wings Veterans Day Homecoming Fundraiser, 11-11-11

On 11-11-11, Luke’s Wings will hold it’s second annual l Veterans Day “Homecoming” Fundraiser made possible by the generous support of the Rumsfeld Foundation and Point One L.L.C. This intimate evening with our country’s greatest heroes is the least we can do in return for what they have given to us. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but in the heart of the action, you will find Luke’s Wings saluting our troops, and raising funds for future flights for our wounded warrior families, in the most appreciative way possible.

Well, Well, Well, Ain’t We Fancy… The 2011 International Gold Cup

On October 15, 2011, over 300,000 spectators were in attendance at the 74th International Gold Cup on the Great Meadows grounds at The Plains, VA. This event was a benefit supporting the Great Meadows foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of Great Meadow’s open space for community access.

This event which will be held on October 15, 2011 will begin with Davone Tines, a bass baritone from Orlean, Va., singing the national anthem, is well-attended by Washington’s diplomatic community as well as ambassadors and representatives from many nations. The International Gold Cup provides a unique venue for social entertaining and a great place to network in the midst of spectacular scenery.

MIGHTY APHRODITE, a conceptual fashion and art performance benefit, Sat, 8/20/11

In tune with the city’s recent art renaissance, local lifestyle brand DemiGODS, LLC will present Mighty Aphrodite, a conceptual fashion and art performance event on Saturday, August 20 at 7:30 PM at Wonderbox, a gift factory turned creative gallery space located at 79 Hanover Place, NW. A portion of the proceeds will benefit City At Peace, a local performing arts organization dedicated to cross-cultural understand, conflict resolution, and violence prevention.
